Why is so much data missing?

The above chart lists "data completion" to show how complete the recordings were for that month. Some months have every day recorded, others are a few days shy and a couple are missing a lot of days.

Our current version of the software stores all data on a small web server at our camp, which then relays that information to the database for this website. That way, if we are experiencing problems with our internet connection (which we often do) the data can still be saved locally and uploaded to the web later when a connection is re-established.

Before we added the local server, our system would send updates every half-hour straight to the web and if it couldn't connect, the data was simply lost. This is why there are gaps in the data and even entire days missing. The entire month of July was not recorded due to a software error and me not checking up on things... my bad.
