The house crickets exist in Slab City all year, but are most abundant in the hotter months. The "cricket boom" that happens in the spring when mating begins is the catalyst for other populations (especially predators) to thrive as well.

Crickets mostly stick to dark, damp spaces and will hide under things left on the ground.
