Probably the most common Dove species found in Slab City. The Eurasian Collared Dove is larger than the Mourning Dove and darker in color and has a slight purple tint to it's plumage, especially the males. It is an invasive species found all across the US and is more aggressive than other dove species, so it's able to drive them away and take over habitats and increase in numbers. Because of their large population, there is no hunting season for these Doves but instead they are fair game all year.
